Dawn persists to this day in the "we're not in the top 5%" rant. Yet again, in comments under this article: http://www.wickedlocal.com/wayland/news/x822808554/Loker-s-Last-Last-Day

"Alli313, our 'stellar education' is really stellar only in comparison to Portugal, Italy, Greece, Turkey and Mexico - the five countries we outscore in the developed world in Math. We are behind 24 others. If you think it is all that stellar now, try taking the test called the 'Third World Challenge' and see how well you come out. It is available at www.2mminutes.com and is designed as a simplified version of the test given 10th graders in India to go on to the 11th grade.

Think Wayland is above the morass the rest of the nation is in educationally? We aren't on the Newsweek top 5% list (for reasons still not clearly understood), USNEWS rates Wayland a 'silver' and charter schools, with far less resources, designed to help poor students, and little educational history, , outscore Wayland regularly.

The Loker debacle is just a symptom of a larger problem..."
